Happy Monday everyone.

My #OOTD for a day at the Art Gallery of Ontario.

Just to keep you guys in the loop– no I have not been slacking on purpose. I recently forgot my laptop charger at my parent’s home in Stoney Creek…and since then, my laptop has been dead. It’s taken me a bit more time to get photos and this post together. I’ve even has to ask one of my buddy’s to borrow his laptop. (Shoutout to Jamie for that.)

Autumn’s coming– time to find a trench. Any idea where to find a nice drape one?
I find it difficult looking for one thats Petite in all the right places, especially the arm length without having to go and alter it.

It’s almost the end of August and summer.

Visited one of Toronto’s latest Parisian restaurant/cafe, Colette Grand Cafe, in King West.
Highly recommend going for snacks and tea. I can’t quite suggest things from their menu since I haven’t had the chance to eat there myself. Was hoping to have dinner at Colette– but unfortunately they had dinner reservations for an entire wedding that evening.

On another note, I’m thinking of perhaps further exploring while simultaneously writing about Toronto hotspots, festivities and etc. Since this is a personal diary-like platform– would love to reveal more about my findings and Toronto’s hidden gems. Thoughts?

Have a good long weekend and labour day everyone.

Every time, just before I post my photos onto my blog, I realize how much I miss doing photography and challenging myself in terms of creativity.

With Pinch of Chic being my personal platform, I was in front of the camera more times than being behind it and forgot what it’s like to have a vision. I intended to showcase more design-oriented and editorial posts since this blog was created. Seeing that I did not implement enough of design and creativity, it felt like it lacked my personal touch throughout each post. I’d like to show everyone a new side of myself and my ideas throughout my future posts.

I really hope you enjoyed this post and feel free to let me know what you think!

Hope everyone’s having a good weekend. Here was my #OOTD for work.

Usually I’m known for pulling very preppy and lady-like looks. Which might be very true– But I found myself being drawn to more eccentric and avant-garde pieces lately. Most likely because I’ve been inspired by so many androgynous ensembles. Friday’s look was one of those days where I decided to implement something new… Because casual Fridays are for experimenting and getting away with it, right? Adding Emily Woudenberg‘s jewelry can certainly bring that edgy element to anyone’s outfit. The Opalite necklace was a gift courtesy of Emily Woudenberg. Thanks a bunch Emily!

This was probably the last day that felt like summer before the cool Autumn winds blew in.
Time to crank out the trench and leather jackets. PS. Happy Belated Birthday Nancy!

In other news, I shall present to you tricks and tips and mostly links to spruce up your wardrobe at a cost effective amount. For this #OOTD, I wore it to work and out afterwards (I’m lucky to have a flexible dress code at work– creative departments ftw!). It’s great for the beaches, light to travel with, you can definitely dress it up or make it a casual outfit for afternoon crepes and coffee in Kensington. I haven’t owned such an intricate piece until I grabbed this dress from Free People. For most of you that know, Free People is very expensive. I managed to grabbed this dress 1/5th of the cost (The regular price was about $200 or more…not including shipping, duties and taxes…ouch).

“But you can get this look for EVEN LESS with FREE SHIPPING. “

Found an item you love but it’s not fitting your budget? Always check other different online platforms– type in key words describing your item. Check sale sections of site with similar items, Ebay, SheInside, etc. Usually the website are American and haven’t updated the markdowns yet. I find that in-stores have their items marked down further and always check what the promotion is. 50% off Sale Merch?—That sounds better! I always tell myself…if it’s meant to be…it’ll come to you…at a reasonable cost. Always check if it’s a versatile and timeless piece. Can you wear it next year? Will it be out of trend? And last tip… look at the price. If it’s $30…can you wear it at least 30 times? Would your younger sister or friends borrow it? Counting the amount of wear vs. the price might give you a better idea of the value and worth of the item before getting it.
